Culture in Raja Ampat

THE ORIGINAL INHABITANTS OF RAJA AMPAT
The original inhabitants of Raja Ampat Islands is made up of more than 10 indigenous tribes. The tribe is indigenous who have inhabited the territory of Raja Ampat Islands and other islands of the berimirgrasi around Raja Ampat. In the book Tour Range Profile Raja Ampat Islands, West Papua, a book published by the Department of culture and tourism of the Raja Ampat Islands, submitted that there are at least 12 indigenous tribes who inhabited the area of the current Raja Ampat Islands, namely:
1. The tribe of Wawiyai (Wauyai)
2. Tribal Kawe
3. The tribe Laganyan
4. Tribe Ambel (Waren)
5. The tribe of Batanta islands off
6. Tribal Tepin
7. The tribe of the Fiat, Domu, Waili and Butlih

8. The tribe Moi (Moi-Maya)
9. The tribe Matbat
10. The tribe of Misool

11. The tribe of Biga
12. The tribes of Schouten

The uniqueness of the culture and the traditions of the Societies Raja Ampat
In general the community consists of thousands of different tribes. Different regions, different accent interlocutor. The uniqueness of this does not make a difference but developed into a tradition. Among the thousands of existing tribe, the Dani and the Asmat was the largest tribe in New Guinea. Both have a unique culture and a tradition that made a tourist attraction which is very strong. Dani tribe is famous for its grilled rock festival in Wamena and Asmat Tribe is famous for its handicrafts the art world class pahatnya.
Most of the tribes in Papua are still very primitive, especially cultural and also the clothing worn. Still a lot of isolated tribes also were in the area that is not affordable in topography and live in circumstances that are still natural all-round. This is what makes Papua's condition is getting interesting. Because his appeal about nature, culture, and society are still far from civilization.
Raja Ampat's own community generally work as fishermen and catch fish by way of diving or wear Lance. How to catch a fish by way of menombak this is called Molo. A skill of catching fish is not easy and not just anyone can do. That is of course if easy to do there will be lots of tourists who catch fish and instantly burn it to eat. This situation will create an imbalance of the ecosystem because it will foul the water of the sea and the restaurant became not sold
Cultural characteristics of society Raja Ampat. :

1. His life group and separated on the basis of his tribe as well as dependent on nature,so his life there that often move except that modern culture.

2. Rope fellow fraternity tribe is very strong.

3. Has a line of descendants of the father and the mother.

4. Know the magical beliefs.


5. Have the custom procedures.


Customs of a nation is a form of cultural value, which is a rules or procedures that underlie behavior. Customs that developed in the Raja Ampat Islands depending on the tribal customs that existed in the area. Customs that incriminating other citizens associated with customs to pay the dowry that was borne along by a certain tribal families so damning for other family members. The role of the Chief characters have a very important role in decision making for development in the area of Raja Ampat. The head of the tribe or local customs figures generally has its own customs area so that needs to be involved in decision making through deliberation. Because without deliberation will be hard to get a deal together.
